I see that Newbury has posted a going stick of 6.1 with a commentary of good/ good to firm in places.

"As a guide, average readings of 3.0-6.9 indicate softer ground, 7.0-8.9 good ground, with anything above 9.0 signifying firmer ground."

All I can say is that racing is being ruined on so many fronts but the travesty of the going and the lies told by the CoCs just beggars belief. Looks like another Saturday card will run on SOFT/HEAVY after the downpours forecast for tonight/tomorrow probably because they have been watering just in case it might go truly good. Disgraceful behaviour.

Let's at least be honest and be told that all grass racing will be on good to soft ground and watered to maintain and at least those owners with fast bred horses can go to Bath, all weather or the dirt.

I guess the results confirm good ground with nearly all winning times slightly below standard.

Perhaps it is the going stick that should be thrown in the bin?

Let's see if the forecast rain materialises or not.
