Replied on other thread, 1974 Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot, disqualified 1st 3 who were well clear of Brook, italian horse i think who was awarded race even though about 5 lengths behind 1st 3, it's on youtube.

I can imagine if the exchange was going back then it would have been nuts. is that one race in '74 the only one in peoples memory? |

Surely there have been quite a few races where jockeys have taken the wrong course resulting in multiple disqualifications?

One in the late seventies 3rd got squeezed by the front 2 and awarded…..

A few years ago at Fontwell the first 6 home were disqualified for not jumping the 3rd last the winner was the 7th horse home Dhama Rain.no doubt a few quid will have been done in that day.

Similar happened circa 2007 if memory serves ronnie,last hurdle at Fakenham jumped when dolled off,first 2 disqualified gifting me this after time winner!!!

What Tiger said - didn't the leader take the wrong route coming back on to the main course in the Cross-Country at Cheltenham a few years ago, with some of the chasing pack following, and numerous disqualifications for wrong course being taken? My memory may be playing up, of course.
