It's the same with Coutts |

Farrage is potless on top of what his bank knows
about him. |

What makes you think Nigel Farage is potless?

Have you tried Aqua? Their daytime tv adverts are constantly inviting new applicants for their card. They are also less discriminatory, it seems.

Nigel had his work cut out, she looked a formidable opponent.!

Who does he think he is anyway expecting to bank with Coutts?

If you are legally resident in an EU country you are entitled to open a "basic payment account". Banks cannot refuse your application for a basic payment account just because you don't live in the country where the bank is established.
Features of a basic account A "basic payment account" is an account that covers standard transactions that you use in daily life, such as: making deposits withdrawing cash receiving and carrying out payments (for example direct debits and card purchases) It should also include a payment card that you can use to withdraw cash and make purchases - both online and in shops. |

As an ex Coutts Manager who left pver 20 years ago I am afraid that Coutts has lost much of the charm and character that set it apart. The RBoS takeover of its parent NWB was the catalyst for the many changes that have in reality made it just another left leaning woke bank. I still receive updates / communications from them full of the good work they are doing for certain sections of society. Other equally deserving sections are ignored as their causes are not as popular with the media. Coutts has lots of skeletons in the cupboard itself.

Coutts is a private bank for rich people. What are Nigel's views on kids rejected by Eton, or the right to gay wedding cakes?
What should interest us as punters is the degree to which Anti-Money Laundering rules have become tied up with things that ought to be completely separate, like PEP which is more about whether politicians might be bribed, or backing too many winners. |

I looked at Coutts website last night. Its actually staggering woke. From the images, to the language and their vision. I quote this from their site, which is correct but also ironic: ''
Coutts helps people to thrive and values differences – regardless of background or beliefs.'' - I think all these woke companies they need asterisk at the end of their quotes like to say (*as log as its ticking all the fashionable boxes) ![]() |

Coutts can't be that woke -- they had Nigel Farage as a customer until his money ran out.

Farage was on talk tv this morning I thought he came across very well and spoke a lot of sense about the way banks are treating people ,he also has cross party support on his crusade against the banks .

They are both right sparrow. I think 2 people who can argue different sides of the coin well! However cutting aside the BS with 'you broke our terms and conditions' they don't like or agree with him and got rid of him for who he is. Then hid behind terms like cowards. They just took a gamble that he would go quietly which he didnt.

To me it's just an elitist being cast aside by an elitist bank.
