Speed Test showing it is intermittent dropping of the Upload Speed from my ISP... especially when placing bets, or changing Markets.

Usually 20/22 mbps  -  now sometimes drops to single figures, and low ones, then back up to normal - whilst the Download remains constant at it's usual 130/140

Very odd.

Hello,

Good news, the issue we were experiencing on our network has been fixed and your services should be working again.

If there's still a problem, please restart your equipment and wait 30 minutes before you test them again.

If that doesn't work then go to our let's check for broadband issues page to check the broadband in your home. You'll need your postcode and the last name of the account holder.

Take care,

The Virgin Media team

It is unfortunate that the metric broadband providers expose most readily is upload/download speed in Mbps.

Which is pretty much irrelevant for our purposes - the amount of data being moved around to place a bet, show prices, even watch live video, is trivial.  Those big numbers matter to the majority of broadband users who care about watching HD movies or the like.

What really matters to us is latency and packet loss rate, which take a lot more grubbing around to find.

Granted, your bandwidth dropping from its usual value is an indication something is wrong, but it is only a secondary indicator.

Thanks for that - longridge.

When the dreaded 'Spinning Clock' was Displaying - Making Placing bets UNresponsive ... The UPload Speed was very Low or bordering on ZERO

Similarly - When crying to Change from the Win Market to the Place Market - again UNresponsive - until a 'partial' Change (Half the Win Market still showing, with Half the Place Market manifesting itself, at Snail's pace) -
- and the Download Speed was 100 Mbps Lower than normal

So  - "an indication something is wrong" - without a doubt.

Please to say - Back up to high 130s/140 Download - and the usual 21 Mbps UPload, now. Happy
