Racecourse was different class,finished now imo

Used to write out bets, on own paper, and bookie
copied them on his machine.

yes extel commentarys and for some reason shop punters looked at the speaker on the wall when the race was on !

as a 15/16 yr old stood outside bookies to listen to the 6,00 from EDINBROUGH on the blower service, in the little ormesby club near boro,the bookies was next door and blower serivce was piped in to loudspeakers in the club

Yeah but the racecourse was the place,the atmosphere,now most are unbearable…..the background noise at Newmarket last Saturday was disgraceful imv…

I wasn’t there but I know what you mean it’s horrendous and totally unnecessary.

Racecourses and Betting shops have moved forward but left the proper punters behind.
Bookmakers don't exist anymore, they are bean counters now who are scared to take a horseracing bet.

ROFL,in a helicopter a minimum 30 minutes Quixall,like Leith to Falkland we have been down this route (pardon the pun) before?

Just asked the AA out of curiosity,they say 1 HOUR and 11 MINUTES Quixall.

Any idea why the difference IYO?

Cellardyke is an hour and a half from where I live

Perth racecourse maybe 15 minutes give or take……

1 Hour 6 Minutes according to AA Quixall!!!
