Always a fairly moderate Fortnight - between the Newmarket July/ York John Smiths' meetings - until Ascot's King George & Queen Elizabeth Stakes meeting.
Only so many horses to go around.

I suspect that CHESTER would have loved to race today (Sunday) instead of yesterday (up against York) -
However - Somebody has posted on this, in the past (maybe jimnast) - that Chester Council will Only Licence Chester Racecourse for ONE Sunday meeting per year ...
- which is the well-established Traditional 'Picnic' meeting at the end of this month.

If you look at the results today from Perth, you'd think it's fairly tricky placepot wise but gettable really if you didn't bank on 2nd & 3rd race favs. So out of 108 lines today I go it once and paid a healthy £304.10 (£319.31 on Tote+).
So that was nice. and
Apologies for the unseemly aftertiming of course.

Hard lines going out in the 5th Mitolo, with four you'd think you'd be safe. In that race the winner had the lowest of the first four in the market, 251 units and the 2nd had the lowest of all the field with only 22. That was the key mainly, in that the rag got placed with so few on it helping it produce that decent dividend.
