its only hung on by a sh hd but only hands and heels last 50yds..2nd lost no momentum and never stopped riding..isnt free but very harsh to disq winner.

I think it will stand.

Winner will keep race though 2nd should have won - 2 very poor rides in a row from Tom Marquand. Hopefully will return to normal service soon.

Seen much worse keep the race, think the professional jockey got the better of the other lad in stewards room, but how can they be sure he would have won?

You gotta be kidding me. I backed Hamrash before the off and laid off at 5 during stewards.

Two things I took into consideration.  1.  Drifted a significant distance across the track.  2.  Premier Jockey V Claimer.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from approximately one furlong out, involving the winner MEDIA GUEST (FR) ridden by Mikkel Mortensen, and BEN HAMRASH, placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand. Being a 7lb claimer, Mortensen was accompanied by a senior rider. The Stewards considered that the interference had improved MEDIA GUEST (FR) placing as the gelding had moved BEN HAMRASH off its intended line for a considerable distance from approaching the furlong marker, to be beaten a diminishing neck at the line. The Stewards revised the placings as follows; First; BEN HAMRASH Second; MEDIA GUEST (FR), third; FAYASEL (IRE), fourth; HEZAHUNK (IRE). Mortensen was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction, taking BEN HAMRASH off its intended line.

not with our stewarding , a poor DQ, but sadly at 1.2 that's 5 'winners' down the pan at levels.

blips happen..good job the com said media guest first past the post or it may have been a proper blackout..and fortunate i left before the 5-20 at rasen or may have have been another blackout..

A 7ib claimer up against an experienced jockey in the enquiry could not have helped.

it did force 2nd 5-6 yds off its true path so as said wasnt a gimme...

TM helped out backers of the winner IMO by really riding out to line. That prob made all the difference in the SE. Buick or Dettori would have lost 1l in same situation and prob wouldnt have got it reversed

Yeah fair play to Baker. He quickly said the fpp was in danger. He said the original 2nd had been carried 6 horse widths across the track. Didn't look that way from the side-on but it wasn't far off when you saw the head-on. I was surprised the fpp was quite that short in the stewards betting. I would agree with Rico that it wasn't certain the runner-up would have won though.

Yeah that ties in with the would it have won thinking. I think you should need the 2nd to be finishing much quicker than the fpp. They used to require that before changing result but not anymore.

When Sky Lantern was carried across the course and lost a big race at Newmarket July, the stewards didn't amend. The Hannons appealed and lost, I vaguely remember the BHA saying something about their guidance saying the distance lost by being carried across the course for a long distance was quite small. Local stewards seem to be ignoring that.
