Did not see this incident but in a race at Ayr early in year, summit Black hit the ground at furlong pole, fell fairly fast, looked  like the weight cloth, was the winner too, nowt sayed, there is cloths under saddle, but imo the weight cloth should be easily identifiable so if it falls there is no mistake what has fallen.

If it was the weight cloth and it had any weight in it the horse would've weighed in light. Maybe it was a numnah.

It was Luisa Casati's blindfold. Kingscote dropped it off just as they left the stalls.
