No bet here either but I think E U will win. She looks a better horse to me this year and might get better yet.

I have a policy of backing unbeaten horses in G1 races, IF the form is close to the other protagonists. That;s probably the case today, but there is a step up in distance. The price is well stingy, it was 5/4 the other day (there might have a couple of outsiders that have now been taken out). St James's Palace Stakes to Coral Eclipse unusual step to take. So in O'Brien we trust or maybe a tester to see if they have a miler or a middle distance horse? With Emily Upjohn normally running over 1½m, can see the argument for having a few bob on Dubai Honour at 12/1 for a bit of fun.

a few points ,paddington should get the trip on breeding but we dont know for sure ,he could improve for it but untill we know for sure a slight doubt ,plus he has had a fair amount of races in a shortish space of time this term also we dont know how the 3yo form stacks up yet ,that saying he is open to more improvement . these so called 2 horse races often dont fall how the betting suggests and maybe a few forcasts could be the way to play ...emily /dubai h pays around 14/1 & paddington dubai h pays around 8/1 .

Hope they come in for you - at least, one of them?
An issue for me which would not appear to affect his performances is how high Paddington carries his head. Will he be resolute in a pitched fight at the end? I personally feel that the trip change will suit E U better than P. I just hope we get a thrilling race - the sponsors deserve it after such a low s.p. turnout. Why didn;t a few stay in to gather in the fifth and sixth monies? |
