Is it the BHA that divides races, or is it the racecourse, within guidelines set by the BHA?

It's gin night tonight at Newbury - they probably want to sell more of it.

Pretty sure the owners of the horses involved, are more than happy for the race to have been split.

One more loser but far more scope for punters to lose twice.

The game is completely different than what it was online bookmakers are only interested in turnover the more turnover the more profit, results are not really relevant anymore you only have to read flutters worst result at royal ascot was khaddem an 80/1 winner ,the online firms only allow losers so no matter what wins they will beat them long term which as I say is the reason two races are better than one ,they have no opinion anymore they simply track betfair if a firm is 5/1 and there’s £3 to lay on here at 5/1 they go 9/2 almost immediately,no longer they have layed a face they simply copy betfair,I’m surprised sparrow you weren’t aware of that.

For some reason the bha will bend over and say how far when the bookmakers request something

That’s fair enough sparrow but you did say bookies won’t be happy which is why I pointed out the modern day situation I believe they still employ odds compilers but god only knows why.

Maybe I'm out of date with them jimnast, but personally I do admit to preferring small fields.

Btw it is the racecourse who decide whether races should be split, within criteria set by the BHA.Among this criteria is priority being given to younger unexposed horse who may not yet be qualified to run in handicaps.

Good morning sparrow

Nothing wrong in preferring smaller fields it doesn’t matter how you make it pay as long as you do.

Good morning, jimnast. I take my hat off to those people trying to solve a handicap at York or Ascot!
