Spencer deserves a long ban for this.  It was awful.  Imagine being a jock on his inside!

Amazed if he doesn't keep it, but did cause a fair bit of interference. Frank Spencer ride there on clearly the best horse.

If you backed easy enough to lay at 1.04, just in case...

Surprising that the market on the 2nd near the line wasn't trading shorter because of the inevitable stewards.

Cant imagine it will be chucked Rico, easily the best horse has won the race.
When did it become keeping your whip in the hand the horse is hanging into is acceptable race riding though ?
Whip has to be put down and both hands on the reigns giving maximum assistance to straighten the horse up, not keep hitting it whilst it hangs with one hand on the reign trying to straighten it.
Deffo nice ban coming up for some sort of careless, reckless, or dangerous riding imo

makes me wonder, whats the largest winning distance youve ever seen one being overturned in the UK?

Its Irish stewarding - they could decide they don't want a non-O'Brien winner especially not if English-trained.

Most of us thinking it would stand, but 20s on just too short to play

JPSER - makes me wonder, whats the largest winning distance youve ever seen one being overturned in the UK?

The most famous I can remember was Royal Gait won the Ascot Gold Cup by five lengths (in a course record time) and getting disqualified for colliding with horse dropping back fast through the field fast and the rider unseated about tow furlongs out. Total disgrace it was.

Also remember a horse called something like Le Gran Braun, being disqualified after winning a hurdle race by lengths in the 80's, for crossing a horse jumping the last hurdle.

I started gambling mid 90s, and I dont recall ever seeing any horse being DQ who has won by over a length or so. im probably wrong and there has been in that time.

last price matched on Via Sistina was 1.07, and it won by 2 lengths. thats a crazy price to me

Storm, jpser...
Along the same lines
One went my way a few months back at Taunton?, I think
My horse cut up on the final bend, 3 or 4 furlongs out
Still 2 hurdles to jump
Went head to head with the offender right up to the line, lost a neck?
Reversed... To my delight
Wazza going mad on here I recall

At what point did I call it reckless or dangerous ?

Why did you omit the careless bit ???

If anyone is clueless its the idiots who think Spencer did all he could under race riding

How long you been watching racing and dont realise they have to stop whipping and put both hands on the reinsSurprised

Thats what I put, I simply wasnt second guessing what the stewards would think, but simply said earlier he didnt do all he could and questioned where you thought he did all he could.

Also stated it was much the best horse and wouldnt get chucked

its 1000/1 to be reckless or dangerous..didnt you realise? how long ewe watched horse racing?
By:
Rico-Dangleflaps
When: 01 Jul 23 16:12
its a gr1..

the horse was coming forward at at pace..he had his whip in his right hand..as it edged right he gave it a smack down its left shoulder..it continued lugging left...by then its clear.
By:

And if it had been chucked it would have been for one of those scenarios. Therefore at the time it was a relevant statement as the stewards hadnt ruled, even though as we all thought it wouldnt get chucked.

I never said he rode reckless or dangerous at any point and the fact I said i believed it wouldnt get chucked does tell anyone that I didnt think it was either of those 2 things.

Id like you to explain letting a horse hang into the whip and continuing with it is the best he could have done though
By:

So by your judgement there wont be a ban coming as he did everything he could Surprised, he continued whipping the horse as it was hanging into the whip, not sure what pics you were watching, also no idea why you dont think he should stop whipping and correct his mount with both hands on the reins

We will see whos clueless then when the report comes

prob will be a ban for careless cos as ewe sya the snowflakes will say should have stopped riding and corrected its path..
