Agreed, very amateurish and ill thought out by whoever is in charge.
The winner was an insane distance clear from 4 out. Sixty-eight lengths doesn't begin to describe how far clear it was.
I watched a couple of races from South Africa yesterday afternoon,both races the camera focused on the far side till just before the line when the near side runners filled all the places.An extel commentary would have been more helpful to anyone with an interest in the races.
Would a split screen per the US racing not be a better option, with side on and head on pics.

Max Of Steel was so far clear it was impossible for the camera to cover the gap.You think back to the days of Martin Pipe, or to mad front-runners like Sakr, and I still can't think of any race at Newton Abbot that's comparable.
Yet the second turns out to be a perfectly good early-season 3yo!

Interesting race this one, to see if it can repeat that run/win.
The rpr for that win was 89 according to the race report.

That 89 RPR would be 110 for an older horse, as they take off the weight for age allowance, which is 21lbs in June for a 3yo hurdler.
