Sad to say the shop was the quietest can ever recall for a Royal Ascot meeting, just got in sat down having a nice glass of chablis with my prawn and avocado salad. The shop never took a bet over 30 quid at Ascot on gold cup day looking back i dont think we took a single bet on al asifhan.what was even worse when the stalls opened for the gold cup opened the shop only had one guy in putting coppers in the fobts. Believe it or not i have had one of the best meetings i have ever had.i have laid 78 horses this week and only 3 have won at 11/8 ev and 6/1. Ronnie.
I wish they would shut all the places up and compensate the long term staff.
Problem gambling would fall dramatically with fools playing machines, its tedious it really is.

A shame some here yet to differentiate genuine posters instead of spouting their entrenched perception of aftertiming. A blessing these posters are not in high office eg judge, manager of an entity/human resource, etc. Otherwise, the same sh1t, different day result eg Men's FA England on Mr Southgate.

WTF are you on about impossible, of course we All know Ronnie is one of the genuine posters on here but it doesnt mean you have to agree with him, some good points well made about the emptying shops.

'GLASGOWCALLING', with respect 'ronnie' has been one of a small handful of depleting genuine and candid posters here. And, I've no doubt what 'ronnie' posted earlier was genuine and sincere 100%.

Much the same up here Ronnie, took more otc on Monday, than the first 2 days at Royal Ascot. The last week of the month is brutal turnover wise, people just don't have any spare cash these days,

Went into my local Corals yesterday, nobody in there, woman behind the counter having her lunch, they usually close between 12-1pm for lunch, but as its Ascot week they kindly stayed open. I asked for prices on 4 horses, the woman told me she was new and struggled to find the prices, she said go on the remote machine it'd be quicker, i found the 4 horses, then the machine wouldn't take my £20. i walked out. they all lost . Joe Coral would turn in his grave

Back in the day I would eat lunch in the corner, sat at my settling table.
Some shops you dared not leave for fear that cashiers would start taking late bets [intentionally or otherwise]

I was at Worcester on Wed., and watched one of the Ascot races in the course betting shop. The Ascot race was off, and they immediately went to a split screen with the dogs parading at Newcastle. Meanwhile, each full-size screen on either side was showing the same virtual horse race.

Paddy's are stopping online BOG on the dogs from July 1st and any customers who wants to continue to get BOG on the horses can only do so if they opt in to receiving promotions. Shameless.

The Corals near to the Kennington Oval close for lunch, if it's single manned that is which is perfectly okay in my book.
Although having said that, the manager is a right bitter piece of work and obviously hates the job and the punters are a nuisance.

Ladbrokes stated back in the 90s that Horse Racing and greyhound turnover was just 51% of total turnover. That, and the advent of the crack-cocaine machines convinced me to get out of the managing shops malarkey.

'Star' in Mayfair is managed by an acquaintance of many years ago. Even then he showed the potential and attitude for the bookmaking business. I think James won 'Manager of the Year'.
