In amongst the stale stools there is plenty of info to be gleaned on here , unfortunately empty vessels make the most noise.

It wasn't Lupescu, the horse was born in 88 when he was released from prison. It was his first winner when he came out of retirement, backed it that day and just failed.Got me the Jackpot at Sandown ridden I think by Tony Cruz, paid around £11K. The horse that won the first race was called Orthorombus if memory serves,1990 or 91?

He had 3 rides that day. 2 unraced 2yos for Henry Cecil/Charles St George (Lupescu and Patricia), and 4yo Balasani for John Jenkins. Lupescu was beaten a short head, the other 2 unplaced, though Balasani had later claims to fame.
His first winner came the following day. |
