Some visionary mating by COOLMORE ...

DAM:  NEVER RAN

GrandDam -  NO Coolmore connection

Great GrandDam -  NO Coolmore connection

DAM:  - Only One other Foal = 0 from 8 Runs for R Hannon.

SIRE:  WOOTTON BASSETT -

NO Racing Coolmore connection

NO Offspring Sired have any Coolmore connection

Sire's Sire -  No Coolmore connection

Sire's Dam  -  No Coolmore connection

SIRE: WOOTTON BASSETT - Went to Stud after being retired from Racing in 2011(Trained by Richard Fahey)

Bought by COOLMORE - 9 years later - in 2020

*  Some visionary 'imagination' to Purchase both that DAM and SIRE.

Thinking outside the Box - as opposed to the easy route of just keep putting their own-raced Top Fillies to their own-raced Stallions

I don't think they bred him. Still I suppose you could call it a visionary purchase.

Coolmore could afford it, and it made good business sense to be seen buying outside, and supporting the industry. On a more serious note is River Tiber a serious contender for 2000G? He's 8/1 for the race next May; a previous winner of this race Caravaggio did not even attempt 2000G distance.

Maybe Garswood, also trained by Fahey and won the 7F Group 2 at Goodwood around the same time that Wootton Bassett was racing.

A pundit is still pushing this costly failure of punters. He's been beaten since winning in June 2023 each time highly fancied or fancied. He was the 13/8 fav last time in The Jersey; 6/1 for the July Cup this saturday against Inisherin and Vandeek.

Anyone for a further glutton of punishment?

His run in France behind Vandeek would give him a good chance as Master Trainer AP told us all in no uncertain terms 'steer clear'. On good fast ground there are worse e/w shots.
