lol, I'd also think the word 'pulling' wasn't a good term in a horse race - is Mulrennan or similar riding in it Laugh

Not really Bogarts Billy, more of an Elbow Room, Sloopys and Le Metro under Snow Hill Station for my attempted pulling, usually not very successfully either. Surprised you know of Bogarts and Rebeccas from your neck of the woods.

Laugh  I don't sr, just looked them up. I have been to Birmingham quite a few times with the Villa 5-1 1976 probably the first. Only ever been to the pub by the Villa ground and a pub by the coach park at St Andrews around the same time.

Birmingham was The Centre of Heavy Metal wasn't it sr, funny enough around the same time Liverpool had that type of music on every night on Radio City. Great Easton Express it was called, the fella's dead now.

Bogarts would have been a home for heavy metal possibly and Frank Zappa kind of stuff, bit weird imo, only went once but i believe John Peel used to DJ sometxy Musicimes. I was more into motown and ska in the early 70s before getting into Roxy Music and later on The Stranglers. When we were out on the pull wanted something to smootch to.
As regards your thread about famous people i did work with the great Joan Armatrading early 70s, she's always been one of my favs and of course some of the Villa players from that era.

Had to look it up - in order to find out what SsangYong is - and the 'Pulling' reference.

Thought at first it may be some silly foreign beer ('Pulling' Pints) - But turns out it a silly foreign 'Jeep' type thing.

'SsangYong are a manufacturer of award-winning SUVs and pick-up trucks that are designed with versatility in mind. The SsangYong range makes light work of towing.... '

The race Title is insular and stupid - as it does not reflect what the product actually is ....

It assumes - (always a dangerous thing to do) - that the reader and racegoers already know what sodding SsangYong is. Cry

sr, my brother didn't follow football like me but met up with Everton supporters who he knew through a mate when they got back from matches. Anyway, they still go to all The Stranglers concerts and have been to quite a few this year and last.
I went to the Munich beer festival with them about ten years ago, had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

Wasnt he an announce at Anfield (you know EVERTONS old ground) until he died.
Progressive rock I think it was called, I can even remember his show being the first time I ever heard Hall and Oates.
