Fully understand your post Onlooker and i'm certainly no C Byrnes mouthpiece or supporter as we all know he's pulled many a stroke, but i don't really see any foul play here. The filly has ran generally over 1m since her debut in June last year, being rather unproductive on turf for Halford and wasn't till ran on AW at Dundalk that she showed any improved form with figures of 3122 over 1m with mark going from 58-64 btn twice. 4 months off before debut for Byrnes over 7fs off 66 @ 14/1 with no claimer aboard. Six weeks later back up to 1m won with Adam Caffrey claiming 7lbs off 65 to 58, believe it was his 1st ride for Byrnes.
Unsurprisingly supported imo running from his winning mark over C/D for Halford. NTO back on turf at Leopardstown drawn widest of all in 21, was settled on the outside towards the rear with eventual winner Chavajod racing alongside him but inside, both travelled up closer towards the final bend where Chavajod pushed MAJ out even further as he made his move for home, again MAJ closed towards the finish but chance had gone imo. On softer ground last night from same mark but better drawn won again just 3lb higher than bot winsh at Dundalk. I go out on a Wednesday so didn't see race admittedly but don't think was a huge surprise and i backed at 9/2 early on in D +Ts with his other 2 mounts. I do hope the young lad doesn't get involved with the trainers shenanigans as he is very good. |
