Yep tommorra at 8.18 Sligo

1/4 to win on the machine.

Potentially massively over-hyped/under-priced

might as well get it first time out while the romance makes it over-priced.

Is this thing buying money...looks like it?

I'd always be wary of these types, in most cases I don't like the 'buying money idea' - but I've also looked through it's opposition, which adds to the feeling of buying money must admit - the second favourite was 150/1 in it's previous race, and ended 5th - and ran ok, but just that, ok. Must be very weak field if this is clear 2nd favourite.

Weak field and a grade 1 breeding - if that loses, should probably retire it there and then? But I also know Mullin's ones can lose at short prices, the only slight caution.

I had a reasonable go at this one though, as they don't seem to get much clearer for the shorties.

It does look a weak race, but there are a couple of reasonably bred types who could take a step forward from debut. I would sooner look at one of those on the extra place market rather than pile in at 1/4. You could certainly lose a lot less money doing that.

Then there is the ground, and the prospect of thunderstorms on watered ground. Roscommon last night ended up quite a bit softer than the original going. She might just be too good, but you wouldn't have thought soft ground would be the ideal, particularly as they have decided to start at this time of year.

The full sibling Facile Vega doesn't mind plenty soft even heavy in the ground, so wouldn't be at all worried by that.

This race is a bumper,i repeat A bumper. But who knows what will happen, the Sligo stewards may apply the new invented Punchestown bumper rules that the stewards did last Saturday night.Cry

Fact that it's a bumper makes me want to back this one more, rather than less TBH.

And then again if they class it as a two mile flat race   and use the punchestown invented rules they will have to start the horses from stalls.Laugh

Wouldn't be doing hand springs just yet but sometimes it's the ones that don't blow you away initially that are the good ones.
