Just seen that. Would be 200 + posts on here if it was UK/Ireland.  Jocks were still not moving just before the 5 pole  furlongs out with the winner a furlong clear.

I do remember John Matthias saying he thought he'd won the Derby on Glint of Gold not being able to see Shergar because he was so far in front.
The jocks in this race were in single file and maybe they didn't see the winner scoot off into the distance
The jockey in second early on would've seen it though! Laugh
There was an odds on fav in that race held up at the back. Imagine having a bad day and chjasing your losses on that one!

jocks in behind are always relying on the one at the front of the peleton keeping an eye on the leader.  if he messes up its too late for them to do anything.
