we have all done it pressed the pink by mistake or vice versa and whichever one you pressed you know , you just know its gonna bite you on the ars e and it not only rips your arshe out the betting gods make sure they put you through a slow torture and actually give you some hope of a result but it always ends with you getting shafted ,we all know shafters metal detector incident ,what fook ups have done your bank up .

Most of the feck-up's I make are on the xchange is when I am laying a footie bet and considering whether to lay or back the other team and do it the wrong way around. So expecting a decent increase to my bank I find a losing bet instead. I can't think of a single example of when I have obtained a win in those circumstances.
However my biggest potential loss was when I decided to take on the bookies at their own game in the Grand National with Comply or Die the year after he had won. Over the years As the Aintree bookies always seem to shorten the favourites just before the off, I backed Comply or Die for 3K on the exchange with a view to lay off for a profit shortly before the off. As expected the Aintree bookies did shorten it up from 20/1 to 14/1. However on the exchange the price went out from 18/1 to 22/1, so I ended up suffering for a whole circuit before I finally was able to lay off. Then I spent most of the 2nd circuit worrying I had just laid off a bet that would have paid 52k, it was going so well. Thankfully Mon Mome saved the day...

So many but I do my best to forget them. One I recall was at Sandown and I thought a horse was beaten and went to put in a sizeable lay but didn't press the submit button. He then looked to be getting a second wind and I decided against it but didn't clear out the bet; I saw a second opportunity and layed that.
After the race and instead of a profit of £20, there was a loss of about 1480. That was made up of the £20 profit and a loss of £1500 on the bet I didn't immediately recognise. Subsequently I realised that I inadvertently laid that first horse.

also a good few here and usually if i am in a rush ,one b,stard just before the off i mistakenly pressed the pink instead of the blue a at a big price, of course it won and i am cheering it on in the final furlong and did the" yes get in" ! when it passed the line in front ! then the realisation of what happened hits home !

Years ago when I was chasing losses I would lay a steaming lonsghot at the bottom of the market for the rest of the bank. I would think "surely it's no value when it's steamed from 30 to 10" and of course it either won or made me sweat when it went to evens in running.

Laying is much easier, you get winners 80-90% depending on the odds, backing gives you losing runs no matter how good you are. Even the likes of Hugh have losing months even at the advised odds.
Backing is easier for the average punter, but the masters of the trade prefer laying because of the consistency.
I have 50% roi backing angles and even those can get 10 losers in a row. But a 50% roi lay angle is certain to give you a useless horse so you just collect free moni.
Earlier this afternoon i put £60 in a machine at bookies for overs in Pescara match tonight.
Got home and looked at slip, £20 bet, feckin hell, left £40 in machine, went back but it had gone.

I almost cost myself 25% of the bank just now. Wanted to lay Invested to win and place, but for some reason I laid Hot Chestnut. Fortunately I realized my mistake and fixed it in time.
Loads, BF changing the positions of horses in the market has cost me a few times.
One in the very early days annoyed me and sticks in the mind. The refresh rate was slow. I took a chunk out of a 2nd fav against an odds on @ 4.7. In the meantime the odds on poke had been withdrawn. So ended up laying a 2/5 at 7/2.

Had this happen multiple times. And the worst thing is that when U correct the 10X stake to a normal stake the 5/1 horse wins. So instead of winning 60pts by mistake I wasted 55pts on a correcting lay.
