"He [the owner] believes that Frankie is unbeatable at Ascot and that's why he's jocked Richard off this time - it's no disgrace for Richard at all."
There's not enough loyalty in the world, imo.

didn't the owner have a falling out with another high profile jockey years ago? Was it Fallon? Pretty sure it was because of a ride at Goodwood. I may be completely wrong.

My prediction for the race is the others not being able to get DC off the bridle.....will win doing handstands imo after the cobwebs being blown away at Sandown

Who do people think is the better rider around Ascot? Well, better rider anywhere. I doubt even Kingscote himself thinks he's on FD's level. The only possible caveat is all the obvious attention that will be on FD and his last R Ascot, and him potentially wilting under the self imposed pressure. Pressure is not something he has particularly struggled with over the years, however if he does win it will all be about him and not the nag.

Surely they would want the same jockey throughout the season? Is Dettori going to make himself available? I wouldn't have thought they would be too pleased if he ditched Emily Upjohn.

Not really a complicated ride, point and shoot type of horse. So far, anyway. Although, in his short career he has not found too much for heavy pressure. A perfect horse for FD tbh.

Point and shoot horses go to the front and stay there. No signs he will be doing that in the near future. There is a question mark as to how much he finds off the bridle which would be a problem for Dettori unless of course he can win on the bridle.

King George, Arc , Breeders Cup, Japan Cup all still to come...
Better horses in these races that Dettori no doubt will try to get on.
Desert Crown was beaten in a muddily Brigadier Gerard with not too many excuses, he could be an also ran this season
.............................................................................. Wishful thinking from Raymond saying that the horse is by default Moores ride.

I think the track could be a potential problem for DC as much as anything else, he ideally looks suited to a long straight where he can properly wind up, he could get caught out in the POW particularly if the pace isn't all that special.

Bizarre decision: Kingscote wins the Derby on him and gave Desert Crown every chance to win at Sandown whilst Hukum was caught behind horses. That Hukom could still win is credit to Hukom, not any fault of Kingscote,

My interpretation of a point and shoot horse is that they don't need finesse or special tactics. A horse that has to go from the front is not point and shoot for me, as if they miss the break they are stuffed, ie beholden to tactics.
He can swing wide at Ascot, from pretty much anywhere in the field, point and shoot. For example at Sandown he saw loads of daylight. It's too early in race terms to pigeon hole him, but he seems to be a horse that does not need a lot of hard riding to achieve his optimum. But to be fair, we've only seen Kingscote on him so far, and could look a lot different in the hands of a busier jockey like RM.

Is this the same Dettori who was pulled over the coals for at least 2 rides last season at Royal Ascot ? The same one who had a sabbatical after losing the ride on Stradivarius due to one of those rides ?
Cant believe Kingscote has been jocked off by connections and made out its not a slight on his ability. If the horse is the best in the race on the day I doubt changing jockey will make a difference and Im also pretty sure they can equally ride to orders if required.
Shocking decision for me but its theirs to make.

Yeah, Hukum got a bit overlooked , gave him 2 length head start and momentum but caught him for a cosy enough win at the line, a few disappointed faces surrounding DC after the race, but it could have looked a whole lot worse if the cards had properly fallen for Hukum.

Been hard done by to me.Only btn once that was LTO on his reappearance. Gave the horse every chance without cutting it in half.Take Hukum out of the race, the perfect comeback. Owners pay the bills I suppose.

Poor decision from the owner. The lad got it done for you in the Derby with all that pressure on his shoulders and now that's not enough. Should have just put Frankie on him that day if he's such a fanboy.

No perfect jockey all the time, tt. Nobody can argue that Kingscote is riding better than Frankie currently. And Frankie is one of the all time greats, and remains close to his best. Not a bracket RK will ever reach.

Tough on Kingscote! , but so what , jockeys don`t give a hoot about punters when they are constantly trashing us when riding to orders and not trying! Wellcome to the real world .

All back bets relating to DC has been executed. As such, I think DC has been retired (at the moment privately). I'm sure the public will soon find out.
