I've recently been plagued with incessant messages to free up storage from my Hotmail account and
so I spent an eternity deleting the largest email attachments I've saved as back-up over the years.
All was well for a couple of days but the same demands are reappearing and I'm snookered again.
It's all about coercing me to 'upgrade' which in English means they want hard currency.
It's too inconvenient for me to use another email account as I've had this particular one for 20+years
and despite using a gmail account on my mobile, I'd like to keep using my number one Outlook account.
Any tips on how to circumvent this problem?
I couldn't even send a paragraph of text earlier without any attachments.
I'm not paying the bástards a cent!

could be the messages you deleted have yet to be permanently deleted as they can stay in that folder for 30 days
you could try going into folder selecting and deleting emails manually (if you havent already done this)

You have used the account for 20 years, it is so central to your life that you are unwilling to move to another, yet you attach so little value to it you wilol not pay them "a cent"?

NEC - I think I've already done that but I can't locate the folder where the 300 or so attachments
have been discarded to (in order to permanently delete) - I've just checked my normal deleted files
folder and permanently emptied that particular bin - any further advice with locating any more hidden
storage? Thanks for your help

They are extremely difficult to contact, they steal all my information and when they supposedly
'upgrade' and everything changes, it's GUARANTEED to be a retrograde step and it's like it or lump it.
Also, messages can't be exported to a USB or computer which is very inconvenient.
There are options out there (advice would be appreciated) but I'm one of those dinosaurs that

Why not use your gmail account that you have on your mobile for your laptop/desktop.

Sparrow - as I said...I've had the same account for 20 years and I can
just about use it efficiently enough.
The gmail seems very cumbersome by comparison and I tend to stick with
what I can 'master' in a fashion.
Form - I wasn't old enough for Bletchley Park so my deciphering skills
will need to be brushed up to unscramble that post

Outlook.com - Under the Folders list (left hand column), highlight/select Deleted Items
Look at the the top of the message list (second column), select Recover items deleted from this folder (it's the second item below the message items in this folder will be deleted in 30 days). Empty folder (I have ~2000 deleted emails in there despite my Deleted Folder stating "Nothing in Deleted".

Also click the one drive cloud icon (far left) and check just in case you have any photos synchronising from your mobile which you might not need.

I have 2 Hotmail emails and an Outlook.com email - as well as my main ISP email account
The Hotmail that I use the most - but, admittedly, far from every day - Has 913 Items Stored (much of which could be whizzed, in truth)
According to Hotmail - It represents just 1% of my 15Gb allowance. ...
On that calculation - You must have 91,300 Items stored.
(HOTMAIL) SETTINGS > Type STORAGE (into SEARCH Box)
It then tells you the Percentage Used - and, of course, - Number of 'In Box' - 'Sent Items' - 'Drafts' - along with also percentage of Storage they are using
It is a bit Slow Loading .... Yours may take an Eternity.

Presumably storage being taken up by attachments (if not due to photos in one drive). Attachments can be reviewed (and deleted) by clicking on the paper-clip (far left), but annoyingly no info for how large they are, so a PIA to custom delete the largest ones. GL with it.
