Towards rear, still plenty to do 2f out, good headway inside final furlong, ran on final 110yds, nearest finish (jockey was asked to explain his riding throughout the race; he explained his instructions were to drop gelding in and get settled into a rhythm; he added he didn't want gelding too keen from a low draw and a slowly run race; he further explained that gelding was caught flat footed from 2f out as pace quickened before staying on strongly to the line passing tiring horses) (op 10/3)
