a good looking renewal ,plenty with chances and i am keen on taking on the front of the market for various reasons ,big rock is improving and has won his last 4 starts since joining this yard he is probably going to be hard to beat but this front runner is there to be shot at ,could still be good enough but at the prices ill look elsewhere ,feed the flame is unbeaten 2 from 2 and could be anything but is up in class and has little exp . continuous given his connections has to be respected and of the front 4 or 5 in the betting he would be the one i fear most ,but these french races often are messy affairs with plenty of traffic problems where a lot of luck is needed and for that reason i only play at biggish prices .
i like a few here and j.rougets PADISHSHAKHA is a well bred son of wooton basset and looked totally unsuited by ground conditions last time but was not beaten far by big rock on seasonal debut after looking likely to win a furlong out may well have needed that race and the price difference looks to big was 50/1 last night and this morning with b365 which was way too big imo. rouget seems to be a target trainer and it should be remembered that this has probably been the plan for colt who was unbeaten last season and the step up in trip and better ground should suit .
the rouget yard run 3 and i like the chance of RAJAPOUR who was also unbeaten last season 3 from3 but on the face of 2 runs this season has not" gone on " but as said before this has possibly been the plan and he just looks too big at 33/1 considering his pedigree this step up in trip will suit much better .
SELECTIONS PADISHAKHA 40/1 billys ew 4 places and rajapour 33/1 ew 4 places hills . good luck opinions encouraged.

hm could be elis , american flag started slowly when beaten in the french 2,000 gns by marharba el sanaffi who also has a very good chance here if seeing out the trip but that one hasnt had that long to recover from what must have been a hard race there . i did consider american flag and he has a decent chances as he was staying on and this trip could suit much better also he was a short priced fav that day and is decently priced today he could go very close and could be be worth a saver .

i shoulda mentioned the rouget" 1st string "ace impact who is unbeaten 3 from 3 and is progressing nicely but 2 of those were 3 runner affairs and this is much tougher not saying he cant win as comes into the could be anything bracket but at the prices i prefer his stablemates.

its also interesting to note that padishaka was shorter in the betting when beaten on seasonal debut by big rock and that one had had the advantage of 2 previous runs this season .

Just to point out that although the Post unhelpfully give the going as good to soft, the current official report from Chantilly is 'Bon (3.2)'. That's the fastest it's been for this race in recent years - when Sottsass broke the course record in 2019, it was 'Bon Souple (3.3)'

Just a small bet on US Flag in case he does a Rodin and rebounds off a disappointing Guineas.
Weird one because they could’ve just waited for races like the Jean Prat or another mile race somewhere to bounce back in but they’re rushing straight into this. I’m guessing they’ll plop him out last and see how many they can pass in the straight so I could do with Big Rock getting caught up in a pace duel up front. Have to admit I wouldn’t mind seeing BR just pounding this lot into submission…just for kicks really. |

The 12F Group 2 at 1:45 has just produced the second fastest time for that race in the last 15 years - and that despite what looked a medium pace and a winner that was never flat out.

This is more of a conundrum than the Epsom Derby. It's also a poor lot. I think the Epsom Derby due to the dismal run of Auguste Rodin at Newmarket had sucked-in a few runners with much better prospects here. Not for me.

Big Rock For me. Held in very High Regard. good draw to boot, makes all or sits just off the pace either way be handy and will win in my opinion. around 3/1 on BF is good enough for me to pile on

More likely to see him in the Eclipse if he's going to race outside France - he's entered for that, but not in the Irish Derby.

When Suave Dancer won the French equivalent to Derby most distance was 12f. Now the French os over 1m 2f. Can anyone see Auguste Rodin running in the Leger or ARC? Certainly not the former, maybe neither the latter for fear of negatively infringing on his syndication or stallion fee.

Without doing any research when was the last time AOB send a Derby winner to The ARC? I think Auguste Rodin will contest the Irish Derby then pack-off to studa duties. I think he's too precious and important to be risk on the race track.

Thanks 'Anorak'. I think it was contaminated feed possibly carrots detected in the feed or something. I think the filly Savethelastdance is almost a cert to run.
