There's no way he should have allowed FD first run. Doubt it would have flipped the outcome. But he has finished the race with running left in him, unlike the winner. Just like the derby as it happens.
That's what separates the best jockeys from the journeymen though. Nothing wrong with that ride in a normal race but lacked the craft of knowing his horse's ace card vs the winner. Needed to make the winner hurt.

First reaction was RH could have made more use of him but it really wasn't that bad a ride. Surely that Emily Upjohn is a completely different model to last years and if she hadn't run her race, nobody in their right mind would look at that replay and say RH should have made more use off Westover.
