Two races in a row, yet again, horses are left minutes in the stalls while they're trying to load unruly ones. How is this an even playing field? Maybe instead of the nonsense the BHA have come out with regarding new ideas they should be looking at things like this.

Fining trainers IMO - if they can't train their horse to go in a stall, it's their fault, so should get a fine.
The others who do it fine should not be the ones to suffer. |

Be a good idea to put more than one horse in at a time. Horses allowed to walk miles behind the stalls.
Dont know why the Assistant Starter lets it happen. |

Agree with MJK , it's the approach to loading that needs an overhaul so throw away the guidelines and start afresh , learn from other countries.

Australia have a Vet at the start - If any horse only plays up in the Stalls, or beforehand, it is Vetted - and in by far the majority of cases ... Ordered to be WITHDRAWN. Most Australian races, therefore, Start On Time. |

US does it far better too - they load them fast.

Many of our trainers just either don't bother with stalls training or seem incapable of the task.

Yep exactly my point sparrow - it should be a key requirement of their training job...though changing the loading process could also help I'd agree.
