The National Stakes at Sandown today reminded me of Double Jump. One of my first favourite 2yo's - top one of 1964 and winner of that race then. Best 2yo and nearly the best horse ever ridden according to by Jimmy Lindley. (Aggressor!!)
Then blow me, the day after the National (Produce and Breeders Stakes!!), we have yet another Double Jump, decent pedigree too. I shall be on, if the market and paddock speaks, well actually even if it doesn't! Going tomorrow of course.

I remember that great sprinter Double Jump trained by Jeremy Tree very well.

This one wouldn't even need to be half as good as the original to trot up today. Market not speaking for it though, yet!!. Lots of money for the Eve J-H thing, the only one with a previous outing - missed the break, very green, but finished quite well I thought.

The 1964 Double Jump won at 2/5 on debut, and was unbeaten until bleeding all over Jimmy Lindley in the Middle Park. He never ran again.

The National Stakes was run on July 3 that year, Friday afternoon before the Eclipse.
