Hayden does know mate. I had an interesting short exchange with him on here a while back, where we both agreed there is a need to adapt or die in the way we approach our betting these days. These freak results every single day have been going on for quite a few years now. My best guess is that it is easier and safer for owners/trainers to lay their horses than try to win, hence all the non triers that always tend to look like poor rides.

Back shorties and get done by rags. Back the rags and done by shorties. It's an (almost) perfect cistern..

Agreed Sniper. I have a couple of situations I use to good effect, but generally you might as well stick a pin in if you are solely relying on form to make selections.

The levy is Happy when Big priced winners happen (conflict of interest? )  Grand National winner was not good for the Levy!

some short priced backers prob do win but they would have to be very  very selective about the shorties they back imo, i  cant win backing anything short  and   too many are frightened of big prices , i am also scared of prices ,short prices many think  big price = small chance ,its implanted in the brains ,also many, me included at times are over influenced by the "experts" opinions write ups  odds compilers etc . many punters cant see past the 1st 2 or 3 in the betting

Just nonsense about AW racing stu, from people who don't approve of it.

The main thing that has changed is the amount of horses being priced above 66/1 which used to be the bookies default price outside of the big handicaps,stands to reason there are seemingly more big priced winners but does it really reflect a change from the pre BF days or just a reflection  of more over 66s being offered?

There is no depth swads which explains why the Barclays Bankers have tipped the fav!!

For me, there are occasions when, if there are no horses in a race that I fancy (ie. they're all equally very capable of winning), I tend to back an in form jockey and/or trainer rather than the horse. Very often that can work.
