Report 1st time poster May 22, 2023 4:09 PM BST

It's last win, which was at carlisle over 7f

Slowly away, held up in rear, in touch, effort and headway going well over 1f out, pressed leader on bridle over 110 yards out, pushed out and led closing stages, cheekily op 2/1 tchd 7/4 and tchd 85/40
Report Rico-Dangleflaps May 22, 2023 4:32 PM BST
hoarse is a well established bridle ponce.
Report the dealer May 22, 2023 4:37 PM BST
Agreed Rico it has had its moments.

Last meeting I was there , nearly every race was won by a horse getting pushed along from 3f out. Numerous horses travelled well into the race but found zilch off the bridle.
Report duffy May 22, 2023 4:40 PM BST
The horse wasn't stopping on its run approaching the line here though, it was closing the winner down!!
Report the dealer May 22, 2023 4:45 PM BST
I didn't say it was, merely pointing out that horses travel well into races but it's no guarantee of winning them.
His ride when it won was nearly the same as it was today. It won then was second there.
Report the dealer May 22, 2023 4:47 PM BST
The winner today imo out battled the second and would have won regardless
Report Poppydog. May 22, 2023 5:22 PM BST
Was waiting for some pseudo-sheep to say, this 5-time course winner is a 'dog'
Report Rico-Dangleflaps May 22, 2023 5:26 PM BST
5 time course winner has coming cruising to win 23 times.
Report the dealer May 22, 2023 5:28 PM BST
You can make up your own mind about the ride but it's there for all to see that the horse isn't straightforward, regardless of the races its won

It would be a bit cruel to call a horse that is a 6-time winner a "dodge-pot" or a "rogue" - but if you try to take away some of the subjectivity (of the visual) and look at it objectively (via evidence), he does seem to have his own ideas about the game!

6 wins is wonderful - but Khalid Bin Abdullah (RIP) and Sir Michael Stoute had him gelded and got rid of him after just one run!

He's tried Cheek-Pieces and Blinkers both of which appear to have helped (he won in 1st Time blinkers)

As well as 6 wins, he has been second 9 times!

He has now deceived viewers (and his Jockey) at 1.14, 1.39, 1.04, 1.22, 1.33 and 1.10 in-running

Would I like to own him? - You bet I would - because I've always had a soft spot for a rogue!

i find riders and trainers coming near the end are getting ready for the retirement, spencer, mullrenan , trainers smiths easterbys stoute and the rest of them
Report the dealer May 23, 2023 11:42 AM BST
A very fair summary TM
Report The Management May 23, 2023 12:48 PM BST
Thanks TD - the numbers don't lie imo.

He is a credit to everybody connected to him and I'll wager he has given everybody connected with him plenty of joy and good times. That maybe makes him a very loveable rogue - but nevertheless, he is still a bit of a rogue! (imo).
