Just thinking after his two bumper favourites blew out badly yesterday.

Yes, he has Constitution Hill, and the ageing Shishkin, but what else?

I can't remember getting excited about any of his bumper horses, novice hurdlers and novice chasers last season. The cupboard looks bare, and he is seen as the  one likely to provide any competition to Willie Mullins.

Thanks for reminding me, although I am not convinced about him post Warwick, and bar a fall I don't see him turning over El Fabiolo.

The three mentioned above were the only ones to top £100k in prize money for the 22/23 season. Four others made over £50k, all of which were mares - Epatante, Under Control, Maries Rock and Fantastic Lady.

Only the second time in the last fifteen years that he's had less then 100 winners. Nicky not the same without Corky?

He has had some very expensive horses in the last decade that seem to win novice hurdles very easily but dont seem to go on afterwards.

Fantastic career and one of the greatest trainers, could just be winding down, afterall he's in the 1.5% who are still working aged 70 and above. Maybe if Con Hill didn't arrive at his yard he would of retired, only he knows.
