12f derby trial run on the all weather this year an interesting race with a good blend of exp and lightly raced well bred types . military order the fav and every chance here top on ratings but short enough imo and i can easily pass at the price .circle of fire lightly raced and looks a typical stoute improver and should go well . at bigger prices i like the look of naipiro and laafi both double figgas and last time winners and unexposed who could show more improvement . laafi battled on well last time steps up markedly intrip here good yard in fine form and around 25/1 bog appeals each way .also waipero showed a lot of improvement from debut run and won a fair looking newmarket novice stakes battling on well winning by 3l plus around 10/1 bigger on here could outrun his odds .

Waipiro ran well and looked in prime position. However William Buick take a bow, gave Military Order an excellent ride there.

yeah waipero could get closer in the derby, should improve again . a loss on the day but something back is better than nothing !
