Very competitive race and you probably all have your own thoughts.
But I was thinking...is Call Me Ginger really a no-hoper according to the market? 120 on BF as I just looked and was 66/1 with the bookies earlier, around 50/1 now.
It's 603 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats and Jim Goldie's horse will be doing a round trip of 810 miles. I think the big price may be due to concerns over the 7f trip. Won on the soft at Doncaster in that controversial race last time.
That sole 7f race in July '21....
In rear, nudged along 3f out, stumbled under 2f out, pushed along over 1f out, ridden inside final furlong, kept on strongly final 110yds, went third towards finish (op 9/1 tchd 7/1 and tchd 10/1)
So let's see how he does this afternoon....

Going to split stakes between Baradar who will love the ground and Rainbow Fire (by Kodiac) who should also act well in the mud. Having a high draw could help here too.

Totally Charming would be of interest if backed to to 4/1 or lower |

I don't get the Totally Charming price. Looked superb at Haydock and will come on for it's run at the Curragh. Effectively only 2lb higher for its Haydock victory when accounting for Billy's 3lb claim. 8.2 win and 2.0 t5 looks a very nice ew bet.

Re-watched the race and thought I'd post RP analysis just for info. Call Me Ginger usually likes to come from behind, so not surprising he faded over 7f..maybe too fresh first time back. Baradar should be interesting next time as did too much darting about instead of running to his draw position.
Analysis : A strong renewal of a traditionally competitive handicap, featuring the first five from 2022. Low numbers have often been a disadvantage, but the wide-margin winner came from the group who raced far side, as did the fourth. REBEL TERRITORY, only 2lb higher than when winning at Newmarket on his reappearance, won this highly competitive race in great style, bursting clear of his opponents on the far side over a furlong out and winning easily despite drifting to the centre. He'll pay for this of course, but since dropping to 7f he has never been better. Biggles is very consistent in handicaps over this trip and just got up to 'win' the stands' side race. He deserves a big prize like this. Vafortino was effectively 10lb higher than when winning this on good ground last year but made a really bold bid, looking to have the separate stands' side race 'won' until collared close home. Spycatcher went left late on, following the winner, but did really well under top weight, finishing clear second best in his group. Safe Voyage is not the force he was but loves soft ground and has found his level again. This was a good effort. Baradar was dropped in from his far-side draw to race in the bigger group on the stands' side, and as things worked out he might have been better staying where he was. Third in the Lincoln but widely expected to benefit from dropping back in trip, he did well to finish a close fourth in his group, coming from well back. Perotto, having his first run for a new stable and well backed, looked well treated on his old form and ran promisingly on ground softer than he might appreciate. He was running on well from the rear and is worth bearing in mind for the Hunt Cup or something similar. Totally Charming had conditions to suit and had run well in the Irish Lincolnshire. He had his chance and ran well enough. River Nymph was just a pound higher than winning the 2021 running in similar ground and a pound lower than when third last year. He finished a fair third in the far side group, but was no danger to the first two over there. Zip dropped away after setting the pace on the far side.
