POKER FACE 2.40 Chester - Huxley Stakes 15/2

Simon and Ed Cristford yard seems to be good nick at the moment and they send two to Chester for Edward Ware on Friday to contest a Handicap with the services of Ryan Moore and then a Group race with the services of Jamie Spencer. Its the Group performer who catches the eye. Beaten last time in the Sefton Stakes @ Newmarket, he comes into this contest likely to have come on for that effort last time out in which he ran on behind the very useful Ottomen Fleet (form franked in America). The run style is well suited to the pilot as he is sure to come from off the pace. Chester is ideal for front runners over the shorter trips, but the further contest does see quite a few staying on to win the race as they can often go a tad fast on the tight turning track. I think Poker Face is the owners best chance and I firmly believe there is more to come from unexposed 4yo. Point Lonsdale is the best of the Irish trained horses, While Foxes Tales is a bit of a rogue and the other two may well need a blow out.

QUIET SEA - 3.35 Ascot - Fillies Stakes 9/1

The Charlton's have their yard in fine form at the moment and they saddle two at Ascot today with Stage show later on, But the Elite racing group have a newcomer in this fillies stakes race, which wont take much winning. Over 10F and on breeding that should be ok, with the ground likely to be on the softer side of good and yard can ready one first time up such is their careful handling. Kieran Shoemark is here for the ride and I think this one will go well today on debut and at the price is worth the risk.

BRIGHT - 6.05 Wolverhampton - Maiden Stakes 7/2

Another one for the Roger Charlton yard and Bright looks to hold a very good chance based on the debut run at Nottingham that has worked out well (first 3 all winners again, including multiple winners). The fact Bright only was run out of it in the final furlong after stumbling, leads me to believe that there is more to come and a win in a maiden is well with in reach. Was sent of favourite that day, so there was confidence behind the Charlton runner and with Draw 3 a positive and likely to enjoy the surface, There is no reason why a big race cant be run.

KINGSLEY PRIDE - 3.45 Chester - Maiden Stakes 12/1

Charlie Johnston has two in this event and whilst the nicely bred King of the Plains will be of interest, I think this 5 time runner has a better chance then its odds reflect. Having encounter softer conditions well, I'm certain the ground wont be a problem and drawn on the inner rail under a course specialist I think the odds are grossly to big, with the unknown against the rest. Finished in from of Mighty River and looking at that one form, this Johnston Runner could be in the mid 80's on ratings, so unless there is something of note, I will take a risk here
