The Tote Today is not being run as it was meant, being screwed on every pool now, prices all artificially generated by the companys software, look at the Tote win for example yesterday at Chester, all wins returned the same as SP within a few pence. The days of backing an outsider on the Tote and getting a lot bigger payout than SP have gone as far as i can see.
