It's a 2-minute anecdote spread over an hour. Jason Haddigan scammed millions from bookies by altering betting slips after the race, and lost most of it back on horses, roulette and FOBTs.

In other words he scammed the bookies for £50 on a couple of occasions.

£100 Sterling is equal to 317 million Venezuelan Bolivar so it is technically true if you watch YT in Venezuela

That's the same Venezuela that Comrades Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott were lauding as proof that their socialist ideals could work.  Guess they did work for the bus driver President.  Totally Caracas.

I used to be a bookie manager with Hills late 80s early 90s.  I had this regular dodgy punter.  Interesting character, about my dad's age at the time, who was trying to get me to go on the fiddle.  Had managed to turn a Coral's manager to thieving on his behalf and had been taken to court by Corals and found not guilty.  He used to like telling the story.

Anyhow, I had a Tuesday off and came back on the Wednesday to find a £2 or £5 football coupon accumulator with around £500 running on to three further selections at something like 1/3 1/7 and 1/8.  I recognised the £2 or £5 in the box as his handwriting, rang security and asked them to check the coupon went through the camera.  Lazy and unprofessional, they refused and said wait to see if tonight's results come in, putting me in the firing line if they did and letting the crooks off the hook if they didn't.  One of the remaining selections lost so nowt happened.

Same method as the pencil man from what I can gather but with one of those erasable pens rather than a pencil. Get the stamped slip back on a pretext, hang on to it till after the race, alter the bet and then get the slip back behind the counter to be settled.

More detail in the interview, which you can play at, say, 1.5 speed.

Took the chains for a couple of grand a time to avoid triggering security checks.

Took indies for £10,000 a time which was generally their payout limit. Interesting psychology was that he'd have the bet come to a couple of grand over the limit, so the proprietor felt good about "saving" that part rather than concentrating on the loss.

The staff would have to be complete muppets Ramruna.  There's simply no way you are going to get away with something like that consistently.  You might get away with it every once in a while but you are going to be ignored or rumbled most of the time.  If it smells like BS it usually is.  A grain of truth makes a tall story.  What would you rather have, the boring truth or an exciting lie?

Totally correct Clydebank. I would imagine he was up to no good regularly ( which is proved by the convictions etc ) , but there are massive exaggerations and a lot of romancing going on here . He just had a 100k on a 4/1 shot recently that ofcourse won ........yes i really believe that lol.     He must be on some good sniff !
