There are days when I just cannot understand the mentality of punters - this is one of those days. Bearing in mind the complete change in racing conditions, the usual 'will he stay or won't he?' and all the other conundrums associated with this race annually the favourite was backed down to 13/8. How on earth could this be? Can anybody please tell me how they had the confidence in AR to follow that horse over a cliff?
the form was there, speed ratings were there, top of the handicap won on the going and finally trained by a magician. what more could you assess why not to bet it, except after the race. cheers.

O'Brien talked it up as a potential triple crown horse. He couldn't have been more glowing each time he talked about the horse. Is he that clueless? It was more of a surprise that it wasn't odds on given that it was proven in the conditions.
