I'm not one to gossip, but , according to the barstewards podcast, Steve and Lydia had a big fall out, and it seems they haven't been on telly live together for a while.

Steve and Rishi have been doing the interviews with the famous trainers eg Stoute, Bolger and latterly Dermot Weld, which was shown last night.

Was that Dwyer I heard as well?  Scraping the barrel on RTV these days what with Ambassador Mulrennan ruling the roost.

I sent RTV a tweet earlier. "RTV standing for integrity in racing. Perhaps not judged on the pundit on today". An absolute disgrace!!

if you'd have tweeted them with 'Martin Dwyer is a fantastic pundit and he always gave 100% as a jockey and is a wonderful human being who supports Everton' then they would have thanked you and re-tweeted it to their army of fans out there.

Just send RTV the Youtube recording of that phone call between Dwyer and the Ambassador.

There are three attributes needed to be a good racing pundit. Racing knowledge, a good rapport with racing professionals and an easy voice to listen to. The latter depends on where you come from so for me, Mellish scored 9 out 0f 10 for his knowledge and 5 out of 10 for his accent. Nick Luck would be 9 for both.

None of them are any good because first and foremost they just want to protect their numerous jobs. Basically, they are dishonest as they don't want to rock any boats. They will tell you very, very little that you shouldn't be able to work out yourself. Lots of people will not do much pedigree wise so for those Luck might seem very impressive because he will continually play the pedigree card. His actual analysis of races ie. finding the winner is bang average. Mangan another in that same boat.

Not sure why the analysis of an accent depends on 'where you come from'?

really differentdrum? Surely most of us find it easier to listen to an accent that we are used to? In my case it is west country but I am also happy with the so called "county" accent while I find Essex, Liverpool, Northern Irish and Glasgow Scottish very jarring to listen to.
