Trueshan 5/6 vs Coltrane 10/3. Huge difference really considering how close they are running to each other. Still don't know if Trueshan needs soft ground to show his best.

think he does. He was lucky to beat Coltrane at Ascot last October after Hollie carved up Coltrane at the first bend. Always felt Coltrane has been under-rated. Had a few £ on him today and at 10/1 for the GC

I've ending up leaving alone. To me looks a more open race than the betting suggests.

If you think the market is out, isn't that the best time to be getting involve Storm ?

Yes, I agree I should have got involved. As I originally mentioned the difference in price didn't make much sense to me. Coltrane will be my Gold Cup horse and Wise Eagle ran a great race today.

I don't think Coltrane beat much today.

I was asking for opinions and some good responses. wd DonegalPrince, GC price looking good now...

there is still a little juice in the price at 6/1 now I think. Eldar hasn't been out and we have no idea of Leger form or stamina. Broome, Point Lonsdale and Yibir surely NRs. Ditto Trueshan one fears. Echoes in Rain? Haskoy...no sign of her and a 4yo filly? Coltrane is sure to turn up barring injury and will go on any ground and stays the trip for certain. I wouldn't be in a hurry to be laying it at 7/2ish for sure.

'Lay' if odds-on on fav in a Gp race. I think humping that large weight at Newcastle has come back to roost for connections.

Who'd have thought that only a matter of a few months ago this horse had put up the greatest weight carrying performance in the history of the sport.Silly

Royal Gait wasn't it? Ascot Gold Cup winner winning Champion Hurdle. Doesn't seem the daftest idea to me. Certainly better than taking it to every flat meeting only to pull it out on the day. If Goodwood last year wasn't soft enough for it there is no hope save for the Ascot race in October. As soon as Kyprios comes back he won't get a look in. I wish him and connections the best of luck. Certainly adds a bit of interest to NH racing which is, imho, becoming increasingly dull.

Stradivarius was well placed, and helped by not as ground-dependent as Trueshan. Also, not one-wannabe stayer then until Trueshan; the injury to Subjectivist, and very recently Kyprios also aided his longevity.

Now, this category has not looked bleaker for a while, I think, unless Kyprios comes back as good as before.
