I’m after something that gives me the option of cancelling out / deleting several horses in a race with one click, so I just have the ones left on the screen that I’m interested in.  Just to make life a little easier.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

BA allows ewe to only show horses at a designated price range on screen.

it doesn't know what ones you're interested in, you might like all the grey ones.

Pre-Race, presumably -

You can use the 'PIN' feature on Betfair - at the top of any Market

When 'PIN' is Checked - it then brings a + Plus sign to the Left of All Runners ... so you can then Select All/ONLY the ones that you are 'Interested in' - and it places those Runners at the TOP/Head of the Market.

It does Not/will Not 'Remove ' any/those Runners that you do Not want ... But moves the 'unwanted ones' DOWN the Market Display.

Simplistic - But useful in large Fields, when you are backing a couple of Outsiders (way down the Market List) plus a couple of more Fancied horses, nearer to the Top of the Market Frame.

I was going to say what onlooker said - I do exactly that and 'pin' the horses of interest.

Well I will be darned. I wanted to post a picture of Tanya Stevenson as a betting assistant. BUT it didn't pass the bf moderation process and she even had all her clothes on Laugh

In protest here are a couple of older approved snaps

Just noticed Davros had a blue light in his forehead. One of them might help Lukey pick some winners Grin

Haha the wags :)

Onlooker / Longbridge or anyone else who knows the answer, please can you offer advice, it will be gratefully received, thank you.

Yesterday and today I have been using the "Pin" my horses on each race and its worked great, but frustratingly only for some of the time..

When I pinned all the horses I was interested in and left the race page and went to another race and came back my pinned horses were all there, nicely saved for me come race time. Fantastic.
But then in the evening all my pinned horses disappeared and I had to re-do them, and then every time I left the page and came back to it the pinned lists had gone.  I hadn't logged out or turned off PC or anything or done anything different.  The same thing happened yesterday evening and this evening as well.

Do you know what am I doing wrong or what do I should do in order to save the lists so they are there for when I revisit a race later on ?
Thank you for your help.

Interesting -

I have never 'Pre-Pinned' any Races so far in Advance of the scheduled Race time(s) - so never experienced what you are saying.

To test - I have just 'Pre-Pinned' 4 Australian  races (to be run later, of course) and I will monitor the same over an extended time period.

After 'Pinning' the races - I deliberately Refreshed the Menu/'Horse Racing Roday's Cards'  Option ... Thinking that may kill the saved Pins .... But NO ... The SAVED PINS are still there.

That is all I can say at this time  - and will come back to this Thread when I have an answer, one way or the other.

Keep monitoring.

do you really need to delete runners if you're betting pre-race? If you're betting in-running using betfair site, just don't.

"Oneten"

Pin your horses,then.
Click on the star next to the going in play tick.
Go to my markets on left off screen.
Pinned race should be there.  Wink

I do not ever recall having pinned horses go un-pinned, and I often make my initial selections before work in the morning (c 0800) for afternoon racing, so they are pinned for a good while.

I am guessing (only guessing, mind) that BF store the pinned horses in a cookie - are you in the habit of clearing cookies or firing up incognito browser sessions or the like?

Thank you for your replies,
swiftynifty, Yes I like to set my races up for later in the day, then I can just focus on the horses, rather than in a panic chasing time with 2 mins to an "off" which affects my judgement.

bluenose7, Yes thanks, that is what I was doing and then pinning the horses in each race but sometimes the pinned horses were all becoming "unpinned" and it was as if I hadnt done the work..

longbridge, you are doing what I was trying to do.  I have saved anything from 1 to about 7 horses per race and did all the Uk cards from first to last race and it worked fine until the evening time and then it wouldnt save anything.  I initially thought it was maybe a BF error with the Wolverhampton card which stopped it functioning correctly, but then yesterday come evening time I had the same issue with all the evening cards.  I wondered exactly the same as you maybe it was a cookie thing, but I hadnt deleted or turned off or even logged out at all as I didnt want to lose the work I had saved.
I then wondered maybe if I had reaced some sort of limit with how much data info could be saved ?

Thanks all, I will try again today and report back what happens :)

Well - What  happened ?

Are you still Losing your 'PINned' Races?
-------------

I have just managed to do the EXACT OPPOSITE of your issue - with a Double  EXPERIMENT on Betfair

This is quite ASTOUNDING...

(1)
I have, this morning, PINNED some Runners, at Random, on 3 Races later this Morning in Australia.

I then, DELIBERATELY, Cleared COOKIES and Cache (whilst STILL Logged-IN to Betfair).

This Resulted - as it does - in Logging me OUT of Betfair - Whilst the Market(s) REMAINED Displayed on my Screen
However - If you then Select a Horse - The message 'You Need to Log-IN to Betfair' obviously then appears

I then Logged-IN to Betfair, again - and the Market RE-Appeared WITH my PINned Horses DISPLAYED - Despite me having Cleared COOKIES.

This was on Vivaldi Browser (which I use for Betfair)
-----------

(2)  As another Experiment

I then CLOSED Vivaldi, and therefore My/ANY Betfair CONNECTION

I then opened CHROME Browser - (But FIRST- CLEARED COOKIES and Cache, without Any Site Opened or Chosen)
I then Searched for Betfair on Google - to Open BETFAIR from there (and NOT from any Bookmark or Favourite)

I Logged-IN to Betfair - and ........... My SAVED PINS Races AUTOMATICALLY Appeared (STILL Saved) - Despite - My Having CLEARED COOKIES

I did NOT expect that.

Nice experiment onlooker - so my guess was wrong and BF are storing the list of your pinned horses on their servers.

Thanks - longbridge -

I was hoping that you would reply, and with such an agreement - with you being as interested in the machinations of Betfair as I, and others, obviously are.

I resisted from posting my similar conclusion  (as below - typed on the end of my Experiment posting - but withheld), as I was hoping for some/same confirmation, as from yourself.

The OP - oneten - Must have somehow CANCELLED his Saved PINS Manually ...
Otherwise - They would, surely, still be there.

So the pinning does what oneten required? And when you clear cache/cookies the external site is still holding your instructions? As an aside who stores your emails, the external server?

@swifty

"As an aside who stores your emails, the external server?"

Rather depends how you do things - just a rhetorical question or did you have something in mind?

Thank you all for your help.
Interesting that you can delete cookies and the pinned ones are still there.
It must just be me  doing something wrong.  Odd that it still happens with some of the evening cards, yet other times it works fine.
Could it be as BF are storing the pinned ones on their server that I might have reached their max capacity by evening cards ?
Thanks again Onlooker, Longbridge.
