Members of the public watching the coronation on television, online and in parks and pubs will be invited to swear aloud their allegiance to the monarch in a “chorus of millions of voices” to be known as the Homage of the People.
Some may want to, some may not, thats the beauty of living in a democracy.

This "homage of the people" replaces the traditional "homage of peers" where hereditary peers swear allegiance to the new monarch. Instead everyone in the Abbey and watching at home will be invited to pay homage in what Lambeth Palace described as a "chorus of millions".
The order of service will read: "All who so desire, in the Abbey, and elsewhere, say together: I swear that I will pay true allegiance to Your Majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God."
It will be followed by the playing of a fanfare.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will then proclaim "God save the King", with all asked to respond: "God save King Charles. Long live King Charles. May the King live forever."

I doubt the millions of 'new Brits' will be interested, of the rest of us probably half detest the monarchy, anyway. KC3 is a hypocrite, fine organic food for him, junk food and genetically modified poison for us. He's a dyed in the wool elitist who gets told what to do by those above him, Klaus Slob, Rothschilds, Gates etc. No doubt the media will find (or if that's not possible they'll pay) members of the 'faithS' to sing KC3's praises in front of the tv cameras. It's all fake. Nobody cares about this charade anymore

why not sparrer? i dont see that having a load of jelly for the jelly is relevant. of course it wont be like last time. a fatuous statement. the world hasnt altered much in 70 years has it? dont think your brain has either
why are you adamant you will not be watching? i wont be watching either but i dont watch anything. if you are a republican you can still view it as a matter of historical record. the reason most of them dont is because they are consumed by misplaced loathing like lucky, above

I was looking through the itinery, more out of fear that there would be nothing to bet on, than any real interest, and I think Sausage Fingers goes on his first, gold-plated carriage tour at 6am. He'll have to do that without me 'cheering him on'. Hope there's a jockeys race though, to give him a timely winner

Nonsense ! The story breaking was nothing to do with email hacking or the News of the World.
But in his memoir, Dogs and Lampposts, former Daily Mirror editor Richard Stott says that the tape was recorded and brought to the paper by a Merseyside resident “who had had a few pints of lager and a curry and decided he would test out his latest gadget, an electronic homing device that picks up Cellnet signals.” Charles was staying nearby, and apparently the amateur radio enthusiast stumbled on the call and immediately recognized the prince’s voice.
Tina Brown argues in her biography of Diana, The Diana Chronicles, that intercepting such calls in the 1980s wasn’t all that difficult, and Charles just suffered from bad luck. “From analysis of the radio signals embedded in the Charles-Camilla tape, there is little doubt that it was genuinely recorded off-air.”

I'll be on the train to Worcester races that morning (it's what his mother would have wanted). I expect the only swearing I'll be doing will be in the direction of First Late Western.

What is a feudal system? A feudal system (also known as feudalism) is a type of social and political system in which landholders provide land to tenants in exchange for their loyalty and service.

Hang on. I’ve just noticed that the coronation is Saturday, but there’s a Bank Holiday (and racing at Worcester) on the Monday.
I assumed the coronation must be on the Bank Holiday. What a dog’s breakfast of a weekend.

Lots of people from other countries have made the effort to come and watch in the rain. As usual, many Brits take our country for granted and don't appreciate the regard that others have for us. About 10 years ago, I spent a couple of days working with a chap originally from Nigeria. He had studied in the US, getting a Ph D. before coming here and could have taken citizenship of either country. When I asked why he had not chosen the US, he told me that the ambition of himself and of many of his friends born outside UK was to get UK citizenship because it is the most respected one in the world. You may not agree but that was his firm view.

A controversial call for millions watching the coronation to swear allegiance to the King has been changed.
The Homage of the People, originally planned by Lambeth Palace to "call upon" the public to "pay true allegiance”, will instead "invite" private reflection.
Before the change, the order of service was expected to read: "All who so desire, in the Abbey, and elsewhere, say together:
"All: I swear that I will pay true allegiance to Your Majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God."
Now, the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will say: “I now invite those who wish to offer their support to do so, with a moment of private reflection, by joining in saying ‘God save King Charles’ at the end, or for those with the words before them, to recite them in full.” ---------------
This Welby wallah - living in his cossetted comfortable daydream world - has scored a mighty Own Goal - by trying to turn the Coronation into his PERSONAL Religious Jamboree - of ALL Faiths.
