Cracking race.

Wonder how good our Grand National winner is?
Also, how he may have done in the Gold Cup? |
|
By:
Took an extra step at a couple fences and looked all out shortly before they turned in.
Then tapped for toe… Hilarious they both got beat. |

Been ridden the same last 3 times, would love to see it ridden from the front or near the front.

some must have backed the winner 66/1 this morning.

Galopin is never quite as fluent as Bravemansgame but makes up for it with raw ability.

I agree - a great race. Didn;t feel Gal was going too well at times and he made a couple of mistakes and sorted himself twice when in too close but no excuses really. 20+L turnaround in form with the winner from the 2m4 race in Feb!. BMG ran a cracker!

an average gold cup winner - some of the comments on here after the cheltenham race you'd think we'd just seen Arkle

I have to agree. I love the horse having picked him out as a 5yo and followed him but he is anything but brilliant. Very good yes but no Kauto Star.

He does not make as good a shape over a fence as most top class chasers do. It could be due to his shape but if he became a more fluent jumper he would be awesome. BMG by contrast is mostly a lovely economical jumper but he made a mistake at the last and then failed to quicken again. Both suggest that 3 miles is the limit of his peak ability and having to make the running may reduce that to 2 miles 6 furlongs.

At 8/11 he represents tremendous value (8/11) winner, if he shows up on wednesday. I think he'll walk all-over this lot; he's a much improved horse.

His form going right handed is a stone below going left handed.

I'm a big fan of the horse and hope he wins, but i will not be backing him.
Fastorslow has beaten him twice around Punchestown including this race last year. |
|
By:
Last year he'd had a tough race at Cheltenham against Bravemansgame. This year he virtually sauntered home, and is much improved; 4/5 here a good bet more. I'm hoping a bookie goes 6/4 (super boost) - here's hoping.

Cobblers. like hell he had a hard race in last years Gold Cup….he won 7 lengths going away!
|
|
By:
Ahem.
|
|
By:
Fastorslow much more suited to Punchestown than Galop De Champs is, the last 3 runs here are testament to this.
|
|
By:
I hope we see Fastorslow in the King George. The only LH race I would consider for him would be one more go at the Gold Cup but otherwise there are so many good options going RH

poor jumping today cost it.
|
|
By:
You don't win a Gold Cup without having a hard race as he's now proved two years running
|
|
By:
It is not just the race at Cheltenham that could have affected any horse that made the trip
Travel strange stable different water. Some horses cope better than others. Not that I wish to detract from Fastorslow who seems to have his measure over 3 miles. |

A better price for GDS for Cheltenham 2025.
