Are the £16 and 20 quids put up at 1000 on all runners pre race?

On the rare occasions I've had a quid IR on anything over 100, it has run like a 999/1 shot . Do such backers win in the long term?

I'm sure the best backers win long term but they have expertise regarding the leader/s stopping ( gone too fast , pulled early on and ability at the trip/weights ) and the closers ability run style and  stamina which may involve thinking regarding breeding.  Summing up if you don't know your stuff you will lose !

Agree with Howard , barring the obvious calamitous mishaps it's about knowing the profile of horses both in front and behind nearing a finish , back very high or lay very low combined with that knowledge and the profits will take care of themselves long term via a low required winning strike rate.

This is one of those perfect times of year for these results and I believe 'time of year' is a major factor.

- Flat stables are just getting going, knowing what they have
- NH big stables have 'shot their loads' for the Festivals
- the hugely variable weather is causing ground changes all over the country (some not reported).

Not known anything like it, apart from the totally weird post-lockdown era and winning prices.
