passed inspection, after 17mm of rain since yesterday, going now Soft. since Thursday 12mm of water added to maintain Good going. 24 Non Runners and counting. is Plumpton unlucky or just badly managed?
Ground is a constant topic of opinion, as is the weather. Not sure how you would accurately describe the ground at Plumpton today, just watched a couple of horses make false steps/stumble in that race so perhaps it's a bit patchy but without previous watering who is to say it wouldn't be even more patchy, the prob was the amount of rain recently not 12 mm through the week imo. At this time of year its very diff to correctly manage courses, you need to water to grow grass but weather (temp) is crazy unpredictable, hard jawb to make the calls, every course is diff, soil types, grass cover, a course like plump gets a lot of racing too.
