Why do trainers/owners put useless apprentices up on their horses. Any decent Jockey would have got Kentucky Kingdom up to win the Chelmsford 18:30.

Harsh, EL11.....when you punt an apprentice-ridden horse you take into account the inexperience of the rider - particularly a 7lb claimer.
Dint look the strongest when riding at the finish, however ive seen worse than that from many a professional.
weight carried is far more important then saddle strength
The question is does the OP think the horse would have won carrying 7lb extra?
I do Sparrow. The horse looked to be well-in to me beforehand with the race set to suit, so I thought it would win DESPITE the jockey. But I was wrong even with the race working out perfectly.
