How on earth does this horse continually go off at such short prices. Has lost his last 36 races yet ignoring his AW runs where he's never placed he's gone off at 10/1 or shorter in 18/31 races, 12 of those were 6/1 or under. Favourite again today at generally 4/1-9/2 with books and currently 5/1 on here.
His owners must have thought they'd bought a gold mine when they purchased the horse at end of July 19 as won 3 of 1st 6 races with 2 2nds as well, won again a year later with OR going from 76-100, well i think they have long since given any winnings back to the bookies. Also statistically neither Easterby or his jockey D Allan have had a winner for 57 days, nothing on turf so far this season. Again this horse is now 7 yo yet is having it's 1st run at Beverley where Easterby has more runners than anyone else. Has a decent draw in 2 and stiff finish and lowest mark for over 3 1/2 years, and hasn't ran in many C3 races, has had a pipe opener from a poor draw at Musselburgh being the positives but really would you back this at 4/1-5/1 i wouldn't.

I'm on the edge of a cliff but he's a cracking bet today . Ran ok last time , drawn out of it and he's always needed a blow. This stiff 5f , draw 2 , soft ground , honestly this race could not be more perfect for him , todays the day

I think a lot of people have thought similar over the last few years but has continued to disappoint, does seem to have a lot going for it as you say, but i couldn't back it, i won't lay it or suggest it's worth laying as price would cost folk too much.

I did have to pinch myself when I saw COUNT D'ORSAY was favourite, thinking either DANDY DINMONT or NELSON GAY were likelier winners. Mind you, neither of their trainers are in any form either.
It's a pretty weak 0-90, so if she'd had a run I might have taken a chance on VENTURA FLAME with a good draw and conditions to suit, but I fear she may be found out by a lack of fitness. |

Won by one of the race's classier sorts from an in-form yard. Draw put me off, as well as lack of turf form, but was backed.

I am prepared to give him a maximum of 2 chances providing he drops to a class 4 race handicap, given his rating of 77. Perhaps he could carry top weight to inferior rivals. As he did in 2019.
