Sportsbook?

You are correct in your assumption if your win the bookmakers will not tolerate it. Do not let anyone else tell you different.
This has transformed from "If you are regularly beating their prices against the SP" to just anyone doing that or even anyone winning at all, they dont bother check yer method now. You might say what is your suggestion then? I dont reeally have one other than placing your multiples MANUALLY on the Exchange as long as the race times don't clash. Yo'll also recieve better odds (remember the bookies just form their prices based on the Exchange minus a couple of %) |

Welcome aboard.
![]() Unfortunately it’s common practice with the bookies to restrict/ban anybody who looks like they know what they’re doing. Sportsbook won’t be any better either. Try the exchange on here for your singles. Much better prices. No good for any trixies though. |

So is exchange much better than Sportsbook guys? I’ve never even thought about using exchange?
|
|
By:
you get much better prices on the exchange ,but you cannot do multiple bets ,sngles only ,backing, laying ,but no doubles, trebles ,yankees etc ,you have to switch to sportsbook for such bets .
|
|
By:
You can bet place only on the exchange and extra places on most races as well as laying also.

"is there a way of just having a Sportsbook page only as I will never use the exchange betting"
Just bookmark https://www.betfair.com/sport/ if that is what you really want to do. |
|
By:
Don't play exchange until you've watched tutorials. Keep stakes small as mistakes will not be rectified
Unless you are betfair and voler le vedette is running . https://betting.betfair.com/how-to-use-betfair-exchange/ |

It wont take many winners from you to be restricted on the sportsbook. Im allowed to win a whole £10 on any single. They are a joke.

Thanks to all of you for your help and advice I will probably just stick to normal Sportsbook betting for my trixie Yankee bets but I do wish the page was not so hard to look it it hurts my eyes it’s got so much on it

i]I’m now restricted which I couldn’t believe as they were taking my money ok but not wanting me to get into profit[/i]
Welcome to our world Dan! If you show even a modest profit from you betting or you give the impression you look like you might know a bit about the game, your account will be placed in the Bermuda Triangle! There really should be a law in place that forces bookmakers to take bets, especially at the Big Meetings, it should be part of the licensing process. But this or any other Government aren't interested in doing something that would ACTUALLY help punters. If you're pressed for time during the day? I would suggest you use BetfairSP on the exchange. But like Swad said, if you wish to do multiples, you would have need to do them manually. You could try the Sportsbook but it won't be long before you run into the same issue you've had with B365 |

Thanks whippin…Is it wise then if you win a few to take your winnings out straight away (Assuming I Win A Few Bob) and keep the bank low each time?
|
|

Makes no diff whatsoever.
If you are taking £ off them with any sign of a system. |
|
By:
depends on the price you're taking as to whether you'll get gubbed or not. and that itself shows how much nous you have. if you have £50 at 7/4 and it wins at 9/2 you're fine, even though it won you've shown signs of muggery by backing a 9/2 shot at 7/4 (even though it won).
have £50 on at 9/2, wins at 7/4. check your emails, there's one there from them telling you to fk off. |

Danaho1212 - Having had several accounts closed and even more restricted, I am now careful to make my bets as obfuscated as possible. VCBet, **** and, Betbright restricted because according to them I only took advantage of their promotions, in the case of Betbright I had only won a few hundred. I've got several letters/emails and should frame them in a montage like a bage of honour.
I've managed to keep my Bet365 and Skybet accounts going, although Bet365 seem to restrict me with some of their promotions nowadays. Wasting the odd £50 from time to time in the gaming area I think helps, as it gives them a bit of dilemma i.e. knowledgable controlled punter vs mug.Betfair exchange recently started excluding me from promotions but after complaining several times it seems to have been rescinded. CS told me I had fallen foul of their metric algorithm, so I guess there is an automated process going on. |
|
By:
Yes you can get promotional bets if you pay extra commission.
|
|
By:
I don't know if you know the answer to this sparrow. I have a fairly substantial bet which might pay out May, if I switch to 2% commission for next month, will Betfair settle at 2% even though the bets for struck Dec-Jan?

That is an intriguing scenario - Storm Alert
My initial thought DURING reading your post - was the same as the end of your post. However - That would, presumably, need the Software to be written so as to 'capture' your 'early bet' - and is that an 'in situ program'? More pertinently, though ... What on earth (OVERALL) Financial Gain can you be getting from occasional Promotions - (in order) to SACRIFICE 3% of Commission on ALL your other bets? Surely that cannot be 'A Runner'. |
|
By:
I wouldn't have thought so storm, but someone else might know better than me.

The real bonus about joining the betfair forum and betfair is that everyone wins so welcome aboard danaho all you now need to do is plan on what you will spend it on.
Cuckoos 404 post is very accurate about only betfair been allowed to make mistakes and not need to pay. |
|
By:
I'd be fairly certain the commission when bet placed would apply storm , sure it's not possible to change commission rates to suit ante-post potential.
Hope i've understood the question correctly. Good luck whatever the bet is ![]() |

Laziness on my part onlooker, I've not checked the figures. I got a bit disillusioned with the exchange liquidity a few years ago and was asking for prices and sometimes not getting matched on "keep" so started betting with traditional bookies again. On 5% commission I got £40 + £40 free bets across exchange/sports book for Cheltenham this year, which is a fair bit of commission to recover at my stakes.

All the best of luck.

Stick a few footy bets on from time to time.
Only way to keep a 365 |

The bha are going to rescue the online bookmakers by making small independent racecourses start at 10 am and 4 pm on there traditionally busy summer Saturdays where the same race goers have gone for many years, there idea is to help them increase turnover they don’t seem to believe there are thousands of punters been given very heavy restrictions on what bet they request.
The bha are quite happy to allow some racecourses to shut and race goers never to return in order to help increase turnover instead of encouraging the online and betting shops to allow people to have more on. |

Spot on Freddie
Bookmakers always look on accounts favourably when they see Soccer or Slots being played with regularity. |
|
By:
few bets on elvis tesley and dan druff at the virtual speedway will get your algorithm going the right way ...

Hulks advice Spot on , 365 dreadful for restrictions ,Ladbrokes as Bad ,Seems dreadful to have done this to Dan if only occasional big meeting Punter ,stakes and Multis hardly something you would think would bother them ,is it a Human or Bot that Restricts accounts ? |
|
By:
They reckon it was algorithms that stopped me betting which is ridiculous considering when I asked why there response was…
You may be allowed back to normal after a while…As if I was some big punter that’s what made me laugh… Dano |

Very, very often forgotten that you CAN do multiple bets on the exchange.
Simply back each horse on its own with the stakes running up. So, the simplest example is, say, a £10 win double. £10 on first horse at whatever odds. It wins so take winnings plus £10 stake and place on next horse. Voila...double achieved. Now, it must be remembered that commission will be paid separately on each leg of a multiple using this method but with the better odds on offer that is compensated. Also, for anything more than 3 doubles and a treble it becomes pretty complicated to execute but then again, the more exotic multiples are extremely hard to land and should only ever be regarded as fun bets anyway. As for the conventional bookies restricting so quickly, well let's hope the long awaited online gambling white paper review comes out soon and slaughters the bookies when it comes to online casino and slot games. If they find that lucrative income stream severely restricted it might see a return to some form of proper bookmaking on the horses again! |
