The fence after the canal turn was a proper mess!! They did well to avoid that carnage, The canal turn first time round only mr Slavin who had all the time in the world to measure his jump, got it all wrong, the horse jumped it, he was poorly positioned and went over the top. After that carnage at the fence after the canal, it calmed down.

30 runner limit get rid of the no hopers.

Look all i am saying is that if we want to take the race from the headlines then maybe reducing the no of runners will help (29 runners when Bobbyjo won) but hey thats just my oplinion.have a nice evening.

Yep, it's a slippery slope once you start caving.

Look at all the changes in the last 10-15 years and is the race actually safer now?

So what is next?  Another round of changes and horses will still die and get injured, so what then?

Making the fences easier and the field sizes smaller has led to the riders being able to go flat-out.

It was the case that you used to need a horse with 2-mile speed in the National, because everyone went steadily. Not any more.

Thought it was a great spectacle....love the spills and thrills......this is what this sport is all about....can't handle the Heat Get de Fook out of the Sport and go Watch Chess....
