One of Buick best ride to win @ the Breeders cup, returns to the site of that victory. 100% record this side of the pond. 2/5 however is proper short price on return.
Emmanuel has resumed its progression with a pair of Group 3 wins, that's after being beaten easily by Nations Pride (fav stablemate). Is this one ready to serve it up this time to Modern Games?
Dr Zempf on RPR is the closest to the fav, but this ex-irish trained runner was no match for Kinross @ York in the city stakes. Winner @ Group 3 level in Ireland - The pipe opener for Chad Brown doesnt really give us any clues to whether Chad has improved for the horse. Previously no match for Order of Australia, who would be inferior to Modern Games by 6 or 7lbs on breeders cup running.
upto the mark - won a pair of claimers, so this rates as a big enough step-up, could have pattern class aspirations, so worth seeing how it gets on
Chez Pierre - Has Flavian Prat on board this time, so that is an improvement, however has 4.5L to find with Emmanuel on Tampa Bay Stakes. However it should be noted Chez Pierre was a warm favourite that day after a sequence which included a easy listed stakes win
Speaking Scout is a huge price given its form. A grade 1 winner at Del Mar winning the Holywood Stakes, was then 3rd behind atone and ivar in a group 1 in January (the 2nd twice beaten by Modern games). Holds form at the top level and shouldnt be 33-1 rag in this line up.
Cabo Spirit & in Love - The former has the better form of the two rages with a placed effort at Grade 1 level. Has beaten Speakign Scout and been beaten by Speaking Scout previously and the win over that rival was more fortunate, so imagine it would be a case that Speaking scout has its measure.
pace angle - imagine Emmanuel will take them along and if nto hurried up, could try to nick it off the run end. Modern Games and Speaking Scout will be looking to swop late, Dr Zempf should be in the van position.
verdict - Modern Games is classy and should win this to maintain 100% record. Emmanuel will try and nick it and Speaking Scout is overpriced, just incase they go hard. Love Reigns finishing kick in the sprint, shows that the course is riding quick enough for closers. That was some run and look forward to that one being sent off 2/1 for the commonwealth cup come June

well the pace angle totally blew me out of the water - Dr Zempf was flogged to death out front and Chez Pierre is back after the blow out, that was impressive as nowt could get involved - Modern Games did well to finish 2nd from being that far back. A one horse race ridden by the best jockey in the race - Flavien Prat
None the less, fair play to the £6k 1.46 Modern Games layer who took it all in one bet in running
