Kept the hoss close to the pace so that he didn't get caught out if the pace quickened up and catch the staying chaser napping.
Going over old ground but anyone who thinks the horse he was beaten by at Cheltenham is a better horse is a nutcase. Defeat at Cheltenham purely down to jockey
Nico on Luccia: That was disappointing. So far back from the principals eg Blackmore (winner) and Russell (Found A Fifty) when the ground was getting progressively worse.
The trainer stated she backed the National winner antepost for quite a bit of dosh. A return next year?

Agree with MJK. Brian Acheson = nutcase. He claimed the winner was the best horse on the day. Never like this assumption that an injured jock would always ride the winner. Gainford had his big chance at Cheltenham and blew it.
