It doesn`t get any better than this, and the 20-1 was laid generously:

KNOCKBREX might leave the bare form of his February debut run over a mile at Newcastle behind in the 1m2f maiden at Pontefract today (4.30).

Knockbrex made the running into a strong headwind at Newcastle, but went with zest for a long way, travelling as well as any to the 3f pole and still in front until 2f pout before weakening quickly, the run perhaps needed for fitness.

Charlie Johnston has saddled two three-year-olds this season that he started over 7f or a mile before stepping them up in trip on their second start. Sax Appeal finished 7th on debut at Lingfield before winning over 1m3f on his second start at Southwell, and Grain Of Hope finished last of ten on debut over a mile before finishing second at 66-1 upped in trip on his second start.

Knockbrex is drawn in stall 1 today and with that race under his belt he might last a lot longer, and perhaps prove hard to peg back.
